Highlights of the November 15, 2001, Regular Meeting of
the Minford Local Board of Education
Discussions were held concerning high school diplomas
for veterans, the new computers installed in Ellen Dodson's English Class,
and the certificate presented to Minford Local Schools for being members
in the Statewide Coalition for Equity and Adequacy in School Funding since
the establishment of the Organization. Board Member-Elect, Troy Huff was
in attendance and welcomed by Board President, Steve Crabtree.
The Board took the following actions:

•Recognized several athletic volunteers.

•Approved the attendance of Michele Compton and Elaine Horner
at the OMEA Music Conference.

•Accepted donations from Wal-Mart for Middle School sports
and from Golden Corral for JOGS Program in recognition of Minford winning
the Penny Drive. The donations are very much appreciated.

•Employed Darrell Risner as a substitute bus driver.

•Passed a resolution allowing board members compensation
to increase should the General Assembly Approve a bill for that purpose.
(Board member compensation of $80.00 per meeting has not risen since 1987.)

•Corrected Head Basketball Coach Gregory Slone's contract
compensation.

•Employed Chris Downey as Assistant Maintenance Supervisor/Trainee.

•Employed Jay Miller as Freshman Basketball Coach and Brett
Oakes as Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach.
