Highlights of the April 1, 2002, Special Meeting of
the Minford Local Board of Education
Robert Ashley was employed as
a physical education teacher for and Head Football Coach for the 2002-2003
school year.
Highlights of the April 18, 2002, Regular Meeting of
the Minford Local Board of Education
Greg Romanello and john Bingham of Gilbane Regency Polytech
Construction Management Firm updated the Board on the Middle/Primary School
Project. If all goes well, the K-3 school will move into the completed
portion of the new building in August.
The Superintendent reported on the recent work of the
Governor's Commission on Successful Teaching.
In action the Board:

Will hold Records Commission Meeting on May 16, 2002, 5:30
p.m. in the High School Media Center.

Recognized the following individuals and team for their accomplishments
-
Granted Sharon Hardyman a five year contract as Food Servies
Supervisor.

Approved several supplemental contracts.

Eliminated two part-time aide positions pending adequate
funds.

Noted the Middle School Incentive program trip to Cedar Point.

Employed Eleanor Karshner as Minford School District Treasurer
through December 31, 2002.

Adjusted the contracts of Paulette Bayes, Carmen Hull and
James Potters to reflect changes in responsibilities.

Adjust the substitute salary pay schedule.

Approved use of buses to take the Academically Advanced Program
students for an overnight trip to the Louisville Zoo.

Split the Hight School Yearbook Advisor contract between
Laura Wooten and Ann Shirey.

Approved the revision of the Hight School Registration Manual
for 2001-2002.

Accepted a donation from teacher Tonya Coriell to the middle
school for the Incentive Trip.

Approved entering into agreement with the Batterlle For Kids
value-added analysis pilot project and appointed board member, Troy Huff,
to serve on the Minford Team.

Set the 2002-2003 salaries of Dennis Meade, Superintendent,
and Glenn Franke, Assistant Superintendent, at the same percentage as the
certified staff received.
The next regular meeting will be May 16, 2002 in the High
School Media Center, 491 Bond Road.
