Highlights of the January 22, 2004, Regular Meeting of the Minford Local Board of Education
Donna McGehean, Ohio School Boards Association, took the Board through a first reading of the final draft of the revised Board Policy Book. The book has been updated with required State and Federal revisions.
OSBA Delegate, Anita McGinnis, provided a handout on recent Ohio legislation action and OSBA Student Achievement Delegate, John Jenkins, provided information from the Student Achievement exhibition to be held in Columbus in November.
Discussion was held concerning the football and track fields, the positive report of open house, providing school information to the Board from principals, the status of the old middle school, ice on the parking lot, engaging students in school operations, open enrollment program, directory information and the interview process.
In action, the Board:
Recognized Baseball Volunteer Assistant Randy Childers, Emerson Coriell, Ryan Etterling, Scott Lewis and J.D. McKenzie.
Authorized the sale of video card remote controls that were not going to be used.
Employed Barbara Setser and Ruth Parker as part-time, as-needed teacher aides.
Postponed action on the Treasurer's contract evaluation and adjustment.
Approved the first reading of the proposed Board Policy Book revision.
The next regular meeting of the Minford Board of Education will be February 19, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. in the high school media center.
