PTO MEETING MINUTES - January 05, 2006

The meeting was called to order by Tracy Grasso, President. Also present were Tanya Thoroughman, Mindy Martin,
Kathy Howard, Julie Shonkwiler, Bonnie Smith, Tim Allen and Amy O'Dell.

OLD BUSINESS

Report was given on the outcome of the Power Card Sales, as well as the Secret Santa results.

NEW BUSINESS

The murals in the Elementary school are currently in progress. Mr Lloyd is making the final decision about what
is wanted in the Middle school , so it is possible that the Artist/Painter can move on the that after finishing at the Primary
school.

Discussion was began on the possibilities of obtaining a Debit card or loadable Visa/Mastercard to be used by those
doing the shopping for the AR store, instead of using their own funds and being reimbursed at a later date.
No decision was reached.

Tracy will contact Kendra about setting up the Spirit Store at a Jr High basketball game - Mr Lloyd has already approved.
The idea of making fliers to send home with the students showing the items available to purchase was also discussed.

The topic of PTO purchasing games for teachers to use in their classrooms during Recess this Winter season was approached.
Some possible games include Uno, Old Maid Cards, Checkers,Jenga,Pick-up-sticks,etc. Two or three games per classroom
may be purchased. All present were in favor of this idea.

A Spring Activity sponsored by PTO was next on the agenda. Possible events included a concert, Family night, etc.
A "Surpise" fun day for students only, during school hours was suggested.
A tentative date to have this activity was proposed - May 26th for Middle School, May 30th for the Primary. More discussion will
be held at our next meeting.

The AR Store will be held on January 19th and 20th.

Tracy asked for input on the Teacher/Staff Appreciation Gifts for this year. Calendars/Planners were given last year.
Catalogs were available for ideas.

Ideas were solicited for what PTO could do for the kids/school for the remainder of this school year.
Possible ideas were a Falcon statue/monument or an electronic sign with upcoming events. Amy O'Dell indicated that since she was
unable to get the Ohio Reads Grant that she previously used to purchase AR Tests and Books, perhaps PTO could allot some
money for that purpose. She typically spends $2,800-3,000 .

The date for the next meeting was set for February 9th.
