PTO MEETING 09/06/2006
The meeting was called to order by Mindy Martin, Vice President.
Also present were Tanya Thoroughman, Kathy Howard, Amy O'Dell, and Tim Allen.
The Agenda was presented as follows:
Old Business:
Treasurer's report was presented.
Tanya presented the Cosi on Wheels bill and said the balance needed to be paid asap.
Unfinished Business:
Discussion was held on the one remaining mural to be completed at the Middle School, it was to be a war image of soldier in the different eras and uniforms. Mr Lloyd is to decide on the image and let us know when he is ready.
Amy O'Dell is to check on the AR Book Order.
New Business:
A letter from Mr Evans was read in which he asked PTO to help fund the 7th Grade trip to the Renaissance Festival. The students have been able to raise their admission costs and meals, but the funds for the charter buses is still needed($2700). After much discussion, those present decided to approve the amount for this year, but make it known that next year we may not be willing to give the same or any and efforts should be made to raise the funds needed in advance of the trip.
PTO has been approached by the representatives of the Athletic Complex committee about purchasing a bench with PTO name on it , in the new complex. The cost would be $1,000 a year for 5 consecutive years. This was denied.
Also, Kathy mentioned that at a recent Athletic Boosters meeting, the idea of PTO and Boosters combining to do a fall festival/carnival was broached. After discussion, nothing will be decided at this time.
