Highlights of the November 20, 2003, Regular Meeting
of the Minford Local Board of Education

A video was presented to the Board which highlighted the goals
and procedures of the National School Fitness Foundation and the
fitness program for the high school.

Reports were given by Kevin Lloyd, Bob Shaffer, Amy O'Dell and Glenn Franke.

In action, the Board:

Employed James Coburn as a Home Instruction Teacher and Barbara Horner
as a substitute Handicapped Student Aide.

Attorneys Stan Bender and John Berry were retained as the District's
legal representatives in selected legal matters.

A change order from Allard for adjustments to the South parking
lot was approved.

Donations were accepted from the following:

Ezra Jack Keats Foundation for the Academically Advanced Program.

Country Home Place, DeMexican Pizzeria, Portsmouth Block, Eckhart
Ventures and Portsmouth New Agency for the 7th and 8th grade Girls
Basketball Team.

Employed Phyllis Donohoe as a three hour part-time, as needed custodian.

Approved the Academically Advanced trip to Atlanta Georgia in May 2004.

Entered into a partnership with the National School Fitness Foundation
for a three year lease of fitness epuipment with reimbursement from the Foundation
on a monthly basis.

Accepted the resignation of Vancil Deemer for retierment purposes.

Set the Organizational Meeting to be January 8, 2004, 6:00 p.m., and the first regular meeting for January 22, 2004,
6:00 p.m. Both meetings to be at the High School Media Center.

Adjourned the meeting, but reconvened to hear a parent's
request concerning a bus incident.

The next regular meeting of the Minford Local Board of Education
will be December 18, 2003, 5:00 p.m. in the high school media center.
