Highlights of the October 28, 2003 Regular Meeting of the Minford Local Board of Education

Updates were given by the principals on building activities.

The Dedication Ceremony for the new Elementary/Middle School facility is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., November 21, 2003, in the Middle School Gymnasium.

In action, the Board:

Approved the new three year Board/Minford Education Association Agreement.

Adjusted contracts for certified excluded personnel and excluded office personnel and the technology supervisor.

Approved a change order for catch basins for the Elementary/Middle School.

Established 403 (b) and 401 (a) Accumulated Pay Plans as a benefit to faculty and staff.

Set graduation for Sunday, May 30, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. in the High School Gymnasium.

Approved several professional conferences and supplemental contracts including volunteers.

Reconized the following classroom volunteers for the Ohio/Reads Program:

Sandy Barnett, Par Chandler, Amy Dever, Paula DeVore, Helen Esham, Mistilyn Estes, Lena Gambill, Lora Gampp, Beverly Howard, Kathy Howard, Carole Kelley, Cheryl Khoury, Lisa McCray, Melanie Murta, Ruth Parker, Loretta Payne, Carrie Roe, Randy Rucker, Norma Shoemaker, Laura Simpson, Jackie Twinam, Tanya Thoroughman, Gwen Webb

Employed Jessica Moore Bass as a seven hour Handicapped Student Aide.

Designated the U.S. Bank as a depository for the District.

Approved Edwin Davis & Sons as low bidder for one school bus.

Approved the Revised Five (5) Year Forecast Report as presented by the Treasurer.

Employed Chester Wayne Setty as a regular custodian with assignment to the Elementary/Middle School and as assigned with security duties.

Established a Tax-Deferred Payroll Deduction Plan (STRS) as a benefit to faculty members.

The next regular meeting of the Minford Local Board of Education will be November 20, 2003, 6:00 p.m. in the high school media center.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Mighty Minford Falcon's Team for making the playoffs and the Mighty Minford Falcon's Marching Band for going to State competition.
