$2,800 Raised To Provide 50 Uniforms
Minford P.T.A. closed its first year successfully, with its most ambitious project - obtaining new uniforms for Minford High school's band - materialized in the last week of school.
The 50 - piece band appeared in their new scarlet and gray uniforms at a fee concert for the community.
P.T.A. members had canvassed every house and business place in Minford for contributions and had topped their goal of $2,800 to buy the uniforms.
At the final P.T.A. meeting of the year Mrs. Alfred Walgenbach, district director, installed new officers as follows: Mrs. Ernest Stewart, president: Mrs. Albert Gampp, first vice president: Principal E. J. Ducan, second vice president: Carl Siedel, treasure: Miss. Ora Maude Taylor, secretary, and Mrs. Barney Shumway, historian.
Mrs. Rose Storey of Cincinnati, a state officer of the P.T.A., was the guest speaker. She spoke on (unreadable).... P.T.A"
A musical program was presented by students, including trumper solos by Vivian Bonzo and Charles Schuler, a saxophone solo by Eugene Garner and a coval solo by Kathleen Wiehle. Mrs. Sue Collins is band director.
