2001 Minford Marching Band

It is determined now that the Minford High School Marching Band will be performing a Civil War show for the 2001 competition season.  The music will be in the classical format to help illustrate the era of the Civil War.  Many props and a battle scene will be included in the show.  Drumline practice has already started and music rehearsals will begin soon.  The music should be in in March.

Tuesday, April 10 the second band rehearsal for this fall's marching band was held.  The rehearsal was a big success, and all of the vets would like to thank all of the rookies for the time, commitment, and devotion that they've put in so far and everyone is looking forward to the Minford High School Marching Band Camp in July.  So, once again, THANK YOU!

The marching band will contain approximately forty-eight hornline members, eight drum line members, and eight pit members, along with approximately ten flag corps members, for a grand total of seventy-four!  One of the largest bands Minford has had!

The Marching Band has already began practicing music for the new show.  The first two songs, in order, are Johnny Come Marching Home and The Battle Cry of Freedom.  The music is fast paced and places 4+ on the OMEA scale of music.

The Marching Band will also be performing at the Memorial Day parade.  The band will march from the Middle School to the Cemetery on 139.  The band will be playing You're a Grand Old Flag.
