The Minford Falcons have taken a liking to their brand new basketball gymnasium.  After playing their first game in the new gym Friday with a thrilling 63-62 victory over Valley, the Falcons came right back Saturday night with an 83-67 triumph over Portsmouth East.

The Falcons produced a balanced scoring attack in coasting to their sixth victory against three losses.

Gene Angle led the assault with 23 markers.  he received plenty of support from Mark Scott with 22 and Randy Rankin with 19 points.  John Strickland chipped 15 for the winners.

Steve Sturgill and Mike Harrison led East with 13 and 12 points respectively.

The Tartans who dropped to 4-6 with the loss, simply could not match the firepower of the hot-shooting Falcons in the non-league tilt.

East salvaged the reserve game 48-43, led by McCann and Roney with 13 and 12 points respectively.  Steve Brisker had 13 and Swords 11 for Minford.
