Advances to Regionals The Minford Falcon Soccer team won a District Championship on Saturday, beating Unioto 2-1. 3 Falcon players helped the Falcons to the trophy in style. Billy Sember helped the soccer team by scoring the winning goal, and also helped the cross country team go to state by his 46th place finish. Eli Parkes, who scored the first goal, also played an outstanding game against Valley Friday night as he and the Falcon Football team almost ended Valley's 40-0 winning streak. Eli was a huge factor, running for 115 yards, and scored 2 touchdowns. Jason Greene came out of the goal this year to become the Falcons leading scorer. Jason has scored 28 goals on the year. "This was truly a team effort," coach Greg Romanello said. "To win a District Championship it has to be a team effort. Everyone stepped it one more notch on defense which helped us win this ball game." Minford's win sends them to regional play Tuesday at 7
p.m. at Zanesville High School.
