    MHS soccer began in the fall of 1983.  The team was the first in Scioto County and New Boston soon created a team also.  The '83 schedule follows

    Jason Slone scored six (6) goals in the White Oak tournament game.  That total is an SOC record that has been tied but not broken until 2000.  It is still the single game record for Minford.  Ron Goodson scored his first and only goal as a freshman, but would go on to score 116 more for the SOC and Minford career scoring record.  It places him tied 3rd in the state.  The game was the SOC record high score until 1999.
