On Monday, April 8, 2002, the Minford Falcons swept
the Oak Hill Oaks 18 to 1. But, that's the only thing Minford will
go into history for. With that victory the Falcons helped out their
coach to help him received his 100th win here at Minford. Coach
Martin acheived this moment over a six year period at Minford High School.
Rather than take the credit for the win, Martin puts most of the glory for his acheivment on the players he has had under him at Minford. |
Martin said
his team played with an increased amount of intensity, and he thinks those
players who did know about the hidden importance of the turned up their
games to help clinch the win.
Martin's career record is 100 - 35. Under his guidence, Minford has won 3 sectionals championships, appeared in the district tournment 3 times and placed 2nd in the SOC DIV II in the last 2 seasons. He also measures his success in other ways. In his 6 years, Martin has seen 32 players play for college. |
