Information taken from the 1960 yearbook:
Football was the big event of the autumn months. Although almost entirely
without experience, the Falcons, blessed with a popular and able new coach,
went out and made a name for themselves in their first season.
Mr. Sammons, assisted by Mr. Gilbert, guided his lads well. In their first game, the Falcons thrashed Northwest High, and went on to score four straight victories, climaxed by a 42-0 romp over Piketon's Jay Vee's.
With a veteran team returning this year we are looking toward the 1960 season with great expectations.
