Freshman Charity Moore had her best outing yet, striking out eight and allowing just one hit to get the win.
Minford also supplied enough offense, to the tune of 10 hits.
“It’s definitely Charity’s best start,” Minford coach Jeff Berry said. “She’s a freshman that is progressing well enough right now. We got 10 hits and about six or seven hard-hit balls that Waverly made nice plays on.”
Moore also had two hits and an RBI, and Natasha Twinam, Megan Graf and Megan Messer also had an RBI apiece. Nicole Spriggs had two hits.
McKenzie Gullion had Waverly’s only hit.
