PDT Sports Report
Reedsville Eastern 5, Minford 0
South Point 11, Minford 1
The Lady Falcons did not fare as well as their SOC compatriots. Minford feel
victim to 11 errors, nine in the loss against South Point, and only mustered
five hits on the day.
“
We played decent at times, but we didn’t perform, and it happens,” said
Minford coach Jeff Berry. “But there are no excuses today. We’re
better than we showed.”
In the first game, Nicole Spriggs went 2 for 2 and Jennifer Diddle and Megan
Messer got a hit apiece for Minford. In the second game, the Lady Pointers scored
five runs in the third and sixth innings to drop the Lady Falcons to one game
above .500 on the year.
Although his team didn’t fare as well as he would have liked, Berry said
just the experience will help the team prepare for the playoffs next week.
“
We’re young so we got more experience and more seasoning.”
The second day of action kicks off with Symmes Valley against Piketon at noon.
Wheelersburg will play its first game at 2 p.m. versus Reedsville.
