Tim LeMaster, son of Hattie LeMaster of Portsmouth, was appointed Aug. 9 as the deputy director of the adult prisons in the state of New Mexico.  LeMaster has served as the warden of the Penitentiary of New Mexico and Roswall Correctional Center. He has over 30 years of experience in corrections, 20 years of which have been spent serving the New Mexico Corrections Department, with additional experience in Ohio, Arkansas and Iowa.

He has an associate's degree in correctional technology from Shawnee Technical College and a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice system from Ohio State University.  He is a 1963 graduate of Minford High School.
