John Lee Hale, 26, of Minford, was scalded critically when the boiler of an N & W railway engine exploded after the engineer, Charles Heading, 52, of Portsmouth, had stopped to investigate low steam pressure. Heading was uninjured.
November 25, 1943 - Zanesville Signal reported that John Lee Hale died from his injuries.
