PORTSMOUTH (AP) - One man was burned fatally and three others suffered burns in an accident at the Portsmouth Division plant of the Detroit Steel Corp.

Dayton Burchett, 49, of near Minford, died in Mercy Hospital.

Plant officials said the men were burned when a heavy pipe carrying oil for a hydraulic system broke.  It sprayed oil under pressure and the oil ignited, setting fire to the men's clothing.
