Dorothy Dummitt

Dorothy Dummitt, 83, of Riegel Ridge Road, Jackson, a former Minford area resident, died Tuesday, june 29, 2004, in the emergency room at Holzer Hospital in Jackson. Born March 23, 1921, in Lewis County Ky., she was a daughter of the late Ezra Royster and Martha Hampton Wright-Royster. She was a homemaker and had worked for Pineview, Holbrook and Lute Nursing Homes. She wa a member of Stockdale Baptist Church.
She is survived by six daughters, Janey and Roy Lundy of Jackson, Carolyn and Paul R. Dawson of Portsmouth, Diann and Bill Hagedorn of Baltimore, Ohio, Sandra and Donald Lykins of Lucasville, Connie and the late Mark Horn of King, N.C., and Phyllis and Ray Walker of Minford; 26 grand children; 33 great-grand children; and one great-great-grand child. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Dummitt on Oct. 1, 1984, whom she married in 1940; for sons, Chester Dummitt, Darrell Dummitt, Teddy Dummitt, and Sam Dummitt; 10 brothers and sisters; and one great-grand daughter, Kendra Walker.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Rick Evans officiating. Burial will be in Dummitt Cemetery in Greenup County, Ky. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour before the service on Friday.
