Frances Pottenger

Frances R. "Bertie" Pottenger, 88, of Minford, formerly of Rosemount, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born Sept. 15, 1916, in Cincinnati, a daughter of the late Robert McNeill and Emma Atkinson McNeil. Frances taught piano lessons for may years, was a Sunday school teacher, and was a loyal wife and helper to her husband in his ministry. She is a member of the New Boston First Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Pottenger, whom she married on Now. 19, 1938, in Cincinnati; one son, Steve Pottenger andd wife, Deanna, of Fayetteville, N. C.; three daughters, Jeanne Clegg and husband, Steve, of Seattle, Wash., Patricia Robbins and husband, Paul, of Red Deer, Alberta, Cananda, and Kathy Ison and husband, Ed, of Virginia Beach, Va.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda McCrea, in 1980; and one sister, Susan Westhafer.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March, 17, 2005, at New Boston First Church of the Nazerene with the Rev. James Patrick officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. at D. W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston and Thursday 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
