Man dies in vehicle accident

An 84-year old man died Tuesday after his vehicle went off the road and struck a tree. According to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, around 7 a.m. Tuesday, a Jeep Cherokee driven by Frank Chapman of Woods Ridg was going south on Swauger Valley Road near the Woods Ridge Road intersection when he drove his vehicle off the right side of the road way and collided with a tree.

Chapman was transported from the accident scene to Southern Ohio Medical Center, were he was pronounced dead.

According to troopers on the scene, there was no apparent evidence of another vehicle being involved nor any corrective action on the part of Chapman when the Jeep left the roadway.

The OSHP is conducting an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
