Gayle Eckhart, 94, of Piketon Road, Lucasville, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at Grant Trauma Center in Columbus.
Born Sept. 2, 1910, in Scioto County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Irving S. and Bessie (Kuhns) Hadaway, she was a lifetime resident of Scioto County and a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.
She is a survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Connie Eckhart and Carl and Phyliss Eckhart all of Lucasville; three grandchildren, Sandy and Bob Odell of Wheelersburg, Brian and and Angela Eckhart of Aiken, S.C., and Bradley Eckhart of San Diego, Calif.;nine great grandchildren, Ryan Evans, Eric Evans, Amy Evans, Konrad Modschiedler II, Lindsey Odell, Levi Odell, Alissa Eckhart, Alexandra Eckhart, and Alison Nicole Eckhart; eight great-great-grandchildren, Konrad Modschiedler III, Aaron Modschiedler, Dakota Slusher, Destiny Odell, Aiden Odell, Cole Ratcliff, Alexis Ratcliff and Chaize Ratcliff.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Eckhart on Oct. 7, 1995, whom she married in 1928; one son Eugene Eckhart; two brothers, Charles and James Hadaway; and three sisters, Fern Curnutte, Hazel Crabtree and Enzona Brandy.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Ralph Frazie officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the service Wednesday.
