James B. Chandler, 75, of Clarktown, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Born May 5, 1928, in Minford, a son of the late Bascom B and Iva Crull Chandler, he was a retired employee for Lockheed Martin Energy Systems in Piketon with 41 years of service. He was a member of the O.C.A.W. 10-3689 union, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion in Minford. He was a member of the Voiture 443 of the 40 et 8 in Portsmouth, and a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1946.
He is survived by a stepson, Terry L. Spradlin of Minford; two sisters, Odetta (Kenneth) Wymer of Minford, Ruth (Robert) Santo of Rocky River, Cleveland, and a sister-in-law, Catherine Chandler of Minford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Burchett Chandler on Nov. 5, 1997, whom he married on Sept. 17, 1954; a stepson, Timothy H. Spradlin on Aug. 1, 1996; and a brother, Charles E. Chandler on April 1, 1991.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003 at Wrwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Ronald Parker officiating. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetry. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion.
