James Rideout

James Lee "Jim" Rideout, 56, of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at home.
Jim was born Jan. 14 1948, in Portsmouth a son of the late
James W. Rideout and Leah W. Rideout Stewart. Jim was a 1965 graduate of
Minford High School, a retired engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad with
38 years of service, a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodge and a Navy Reserve
veteran.
He was married Oct. 22 1979, in Wise, Va., to Floretta Harris Rideout,
who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Theresa D. Rideout (Stewart)
of Wheelersburg; two stepdaughters, Tammy Robinson of Columbus and Cidy Charles
of Portsmouth; one stepsister, Kay Potter of Shelby, Ohio; and grandchildren,
Jamie Blanton, Jesscia Bender, Miranda Poole, Crystal and Cindy Robinson
and Austin and Cole Charles.
He also was preceded in death by one stepbrother, Earl Stewart.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at the D.W. Swick Funeral
Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Dan Scott officiating and burial at Memorial
Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from noon
to 1 p.m. at D.W. Swick in Wheelersburg.
