Juanita June Casebolt Elam

Juanita June Elam, 74, of Minford, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at Elbrooke Pavilion, Minford Retirement Center in Minford.
She was born June 30, 1926 in Minford, a daughter of the late John Henry and Pina May (Johnson) Casebolt. She was a lifetime resident of Scioto County. She was a biology teacher for Minford Local Schools, retiring in 1993 with 25 years of service, a member of Scioto County Retired Teachers Association, a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1944, and attended Long Run United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four brothers: Paul J. Casebolt of Wilksville, OH; Kenas Casebolt of Minford; Lawrence Casebolt of Scottsboro, Alabama, Lon Casebolt of Cleveland; three sisters: Flora Duduit of Waverly; Pina Maynard of Apex, NC; Ruth Hite of Millersport; one half sister: Blanche Casson of Baltimore, MD; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Elam on Aug. 28, 1997, whom she married Oct. 25, 1953; four brothers: John Hiram, Fon and Willie Casebolt; two sisters: Bessie Elam and Clara Meyers.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 27, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Kenas Casebolt and Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial in Bennett Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the scholarship fund for the Scioto County Area Foundation, Inc., 801 BancOhio Bldg, Portsmouth, OH 45662.
