Lawrence Joseph Strafford, 78, of Minford, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at Greenbriar Nursing Home inWheelersburg.
He was born Nov. 9, 1926, in Scoito County, a son of the late Rev. Everett Stafford and Nora Stafford. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was married Feb. 8, 1947, to Ruth Stiltner Stafford, who preceded him in death Jan. 23, 2005.
Surviving are one son, Larry J. Stafford, and wife Rosemary, of Dayton.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy Safford, and one sister, Martha Rose.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2005, at the D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with the Rev. Carl Rose officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
