Mary E. Shuter, 81, of Minford, died Monday, February 2, 2004, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Born August 28, 1922, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Edgar Hill and Mollie H. Reeder Carr, she was a lifetime resident of Scioto County. She was an aid in the guidance office at Minford High School and had worked for Valley Supply Company in Portsmouth for five years. She attended Harrison Free Will Baptist Church and Frederick Free Will Baptist Church and was a graduate of Portsmouth High School in the class of 1941.
She is survived by a son, David Shuter of Minford; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Paul Williams of Minford; and one sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Leroy Yelley of Lucasville. In the addition to her parents , she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Shuter, June 6, 1995, whom she married July 18, 1946, in Portsmouth; and one brother, William E. Carr, June 30, 1998.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004, at Bennet Cemetary in Minford, with Pastor Dan Widdig officiating. Friends may call at the Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The family's favorite charity is the American Lung Association.
