Melinda Hutchinson

Melinda Hutchinson, 44, of Millers Ridge Road, Portsmouth, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002 at her residence.

She was born May 8, 1957 in Ashland, KY., a daughter of Phyllis (salyers) Lauderback of Lucasville, and the late Warren C. Lauderback.

She was a lifetime resident of Scioto County. She was treasurer for Minford Local School District, were she had served as secretary to the superintendent, and treasurer.

She was a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1975, member of the Swauger Valley Free Will Baptist Church and Ohio Association of School Business Officials.

She is survived by her husband, Billy J. Hutchinson; one son and daughter-in-law: Nick and Stephanie Flaig of Portsmouth; one daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Bobby Bocook of Portsmouth; one step-son: Lyle Hutchinson of Long Beach, CA; four step-daughters: Diana Church of Cave Run, KY; Billie Starr and Lee Hutchinson, both of Grafton, Wisconsin; Dawn Joyce of Sciotoville; two brothers and sisters-in-laws: Kenneth and Pam Lauderback; Gorden and Debbie Lauderback, all of Lucasville; one sister and brother-in-law: Cindy and Dave Smith of Lucasville; three grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and four nephews and two nieces.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednsday, Jan. 16, 2002) at 11 a.m. at Swauger Valley Free Will Baptist Church, with Pastor Danny Laney and Pastor Ron Parker officiating. 

Burial in Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Visitation will be held Wed, Jan. 16, 2002 from 10-11 a.m. at the Swauger Valley FreeWill Baptist Church.
