Paul Broomhall

Paul F. Broomhall, 88, former Minford resident, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Hill View Healthcare Facility.

Paul was born Feb. 5, 1917, son of the late Frank F. Broomhall and Tressa July Broomhall. He also was preceded in death by a foster sister, Loretta M. Haag.

Surviving are a loving wife of 64 years, Bessie K. Yinger Broomhall, and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church of Portsmouth and attended Portsmouth City Schools, Tri State Bible College and the hydraulic and electrical school of Ohio University Portsmouth Branch. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater with the 2nd Engineer Special Brigade. He was a member of the James Irwin Post 622 American Legion of Minford, Ohio, and a member of Disabled American Veterans. He retired from Empire-Detriot Steel Company and Goodyear Atomic Corporation of Piketon.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Clark Hess officiating and entombment in Englewood Abbey Mausoleum at Memorial Burial Park with military rites by James Irwin Post. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brants.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone United Methodist Church Building Fund and Tri State Bible College Expansion Program in South Point, Ohio.
