Roy Sudbrook

Roy E. Sudbrook, 80, of Jackson, a former Minford area resident, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Born Jan. 29, 1923, in Jackson County, a son of the late George and Ida Jenkins Sudbrook, he was a former employee for Minford Local School District and the former Marting's Department Store in Portsmouth. He was a member of the Eagles and Veterans of Foreign War in Jackson, and at one time attended Hamilton Glades Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by one sister, Anna Sudbrook of Portsmouth, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Coleman Sudbrook on Feb. 21, 1980; one brother, John Sudbrook; two sisters, Maggie Sudbrook, Marcella Buckley; and a special friend, Margaret Howell.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Tim Palla officiating. Burial will be in Jenkins Cemetery near Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and one hour prior to the service Thursday. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion.
