Sam Dummitt

Sam R. Dummit, 52, of Minford, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

He was born June 24, 1951, in New Boston, a son of Dorothy Royster Dummitt of Lucasville and the late Raymond Dummitt. He was a self-employed painter and drywall hanger and a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1969.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Samantha) Dummitt of Lucasville and Adam Dummitt of Lucasville; two grandchildren, Ashton and Emily; six sisters Janet (Roy) Lundy of Jackson, Carolyn (Paul) Dawson of Portsmouth, Diann (William) Hagedorn of Baltimore, Ohio, Sandy (Donald) Lykins of Lucasville, Connie (Mark) Horn of King, N.C., Phyllis (Ray) Walker of Minford; his former wife, Teresa Whisman Bragdon of Lucasville; and several nieces and nephews.

Beside his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester, Darrell, and Ted Dummitt.

Funeral services will be conducted 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Mark Bales officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
