Terry A. Ross Sr., 56, of Greenbriar Road, Portsmouth, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. He was born Sept. 29, 1947, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of James and Freda Royal Ross of Swauger Valley Road, Portsmouth, Ohio. He was an operating engineer for Local 181. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Portsmouth and a Vietnam War Army Veteran from which he was a Purple Heart recipient. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Donna Loop of Portsmouth; one son, Terry Arthur Ross Jr. of Chillicothe; one brother, James Ross Jr. of Portsmouth; three sisters, Patricia Diane Darby of Sciotoville, Angela Lynn Mercer of Wheelersburg and Judy Susan Rhoden of Minford; two grandsons, Christopher and Jacob; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Dustin Treadway.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor John Martin officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday.
