Thelma Bennett

Thelma Bennett, 81, of Greenbriar Road, Lucasville, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.  Born Feb. 4, 1922, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Rev. Dewey and Della Turner Wright, she was a homemaker, charter member of Rubyville Community Church and a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1940.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John D. and Fran Bennett of Lucasville; one brother and sister-in-law, Dewey Wright Jr. and Beulah Wright of Portsmouth; a brother-in-law, Willard Seibert of Portsmouth; two grandsons, Christopher David Bennett and Aaron Chadwick Bennett; two granddaughters, Megan Nicole Bennett and Whittni Renee Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Bennett, June 9, 1983, whom she married Oct. 18, 1958; and one sister, Hazel Seibert.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Rubyville Community Church in Rubyville, with Pastor Calvin Ray Evans and the Rev. Sidney Snyder officiating.  Burial will by in Siloam Cemetery in Siloam, Ky.  Friends may call at the Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
