William Jay Donahoe

William Jay "Bill" Donahoe, 74 of Salem Road, Minford, Ohio, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at his residence.
Born Sept. 23, 1929, in Wellston, a son of the late George and Bertha Johnson Donahoe, he was a retired fireman for Goodyear Atomic Plant at Piketon. He was a member of Harrison Free Will Babtist Church, Lucasville Masonic Lodge No.456 in Lucasville, Lucasville Order of the Eastern Star No.495 James Irwin Post No.622 American Legion in Minford, a Navy veteran of Korean War and a graduate of Clay High School Class of 1948.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lorene Rolfe Donahoe, whom he married Aug. 2, 1953, in New Boston; seven sons, Mike and Naomi Donahoe of Cedar City, Utah, Dennis and Diana Donahoe of Wheelersburg, Greg and Lisa Donahoe of Lexington, Ky., Bob and Phyllis Donahoe, Dwayne and Lori Donahoe, all of Minford; three daughters, Pam and Larry Tieman of Lucasville, Patty and John Lester of Minford, Paige and Brian Missler of Sciotoville; 18 grandchildren, Brian and Joseph Donahoe, Dana Fetters, Erica Shoemaker, Katie Dnahoe, Stacey Christopher and Dylan Donahe, Scott and Tasha Donahoe, Amanda, Emily and Abby Donahoe, Luke and Levi Lester, Breanna and Jaiden Missler and Sagan Gampp: and four great- grandchildren, Chanel Donahoe, Breanna and Cierra Donahoe and Shyanne Donahoe.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Ronnie and Robert Donahoe; and one sister, Joan Charles. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 at Erwin-Dodson Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Dan Widdig officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery near Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the services Monday. A Masonic service will be held by the Lucasville Lodge NO.465 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No.622 American Legion. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Southern Ohio in his memory.
