October 23 - Bert Lyons, of Minford, is dead and three others are recovering today from injuries suffered Wednesday when the automobile in which they were riding skidded from the road and crashed into a tree.  Those injured were Ernest Giles, Otto Rothermel and Miss Dora Labein all of Columbus.  All were taken to the hospital where attaches said Giles sustained a concussion of the brain.  His condition is serious and it was said he may die.  The other two received only minor injuries.  The trio had picked up Lyons a few minutes before the accident to give him a "lift."  he was identified through letters found in his pockets.  The Circleville Herald, October 23, 1930
