School Principal Weds Miss Louise Bennett

Announcements have been received here today of the marriage of Miss Louise Bennett of Minford, to Henry J. Sheets, principal of the East Mansfield school. The nuptials were spoken Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Fairview Baptist church, north of Minford, with the Rev. Clarence Caulley officiating. The wedding took place before a background arrangement of palms and baskets of white gladioli and white hydranges. Miss Bennett is the daughter of Mrs. Ada Bennett, and Mr. Sheets, who came to Mansfield from Gallipolis, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Sheets of Gallipolis. The bride chose a white summer suit with with accessories for her wedding. Her wide brimmed hat was trimmed with russet brown ribbon. A Red rose corsage completed her ensemble. Miss Helen Bennett, sister of the bride, was her only attendant. She was attired in a dress of white pique made with a triple peplum, and her white hat was also trimmed with russet brown ribbon. She wore a red rose corsage. Kenneth L. Sheets of Gallipolis, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Sheets of Gallipolis. Mrs. Bennett was attired in a blue and white print dress. Mrs. Sheets chose a black and white print dress for her son's wedding. Both mothers had pink and white carnations corsages. Prior to the wedding ceremony a chicken dinner was served buffet style to members of the immediate families. A large wedding cake decorated in white and silver was used as the centerpiece on the table, along with cut flowers. Mrs. Sheets graduated from Minford high school and Rio Grande college and attended Ohio university. For the last several years, she has taught at Clay Township school. Mr. Sheets was graduated from Gallipolis high school and Rio Grande college and attended Ohio State university and Stanford university. Both the bride and the bridegroom will teach in Mansfield upon their return from an extended trip through Arizona and New Mexico. Out-of-town guests present at the wedding and dinner were from Gallipolis and Athens. |
