Alfred Boyer
Alfred Boyer was born in Fayette Co. PA in 1833. He was a son of Jonathan Boyer and Jemima Tipton. In 1834, the family moved to Scioto Furnace, and then to a 152 acre farm in Harrison Township in the Tick Ridge area. In 1856, Boyer married Temperance Purdy, daughter of Allen Purdy and Hettie Burt. Their marriage produced the following children: Alice, Amanda, Isabelle, William, Duncan, Fiola, Jonathan, Luella, Wilson, Halley, and Oren. In 1880, Boyer was elected Treasurer of Scioto County, Ohio.
