David McKenzie, Sr.

David McKenzie Sr. who is buried in the Glendale Cemetery on Lucasville-Minford Road appears to be the first McKenzie to live in the vicinities of Harrison and Madison Townships. He was orn in Scotland Oct. 15, 1803. He married Harriett McIntosh who was born on June 11, 1811, in Scotland. The couple was married in Pennsylvania before moving to Ohio. The McKenzies were the parents of David McKenzie Jr. who married Mary Ellen RIce, daughter of Jesse Rice, and William McKenzie who died in 1854 at the age of 1 year. They may have had other children that are not included in this sketch.

David Sr. bought farmland along Glendale Road. They soent their lives on this farm and are buried beside each other, along with their two known children in the cemetery nearby.
