George Dever

George Dever was born in Jackson County, OH, in 1823. He was the oldest son of Soloman Dever and Chloe Mault. In 1849, George married Mahala White, daughter of John White and SylviaWyma, and moved to Madison Township where he became a well-known farmer and stock-raiser. George and Mahala Dever had seven children, six of whom lived to adulthood: Soloman A., Caroline W., Kendal, John M., and Warren L. Lindoch Winfield Dever died before reaching adulthood.
