Jacob Deemer

Jacob Deemer was born in PA in 1841. His father was Jacob Sr. and his mother was Susan Bonzo. Jacob Sr. was of German decent and Susan's parents were born in France.

Jacob Jr. came to Madison Township in 1857 when his family migrated there. He served in the first Ohio Heavy Artillery from 1863 - 1865, advancing to the rank of corporal. After the war, he moved to Washington Township in the area of Carey's Run. He married Samantha McKinney and had two children, Charles D. and Lucy Jane.
