Ryon Post Office

Information taken from a newspaper article donated by Sam & Evelyn Bennett

In 1886, in the Pools Corner area, a post office was established named Ryon.  According to Ruth Cole Hagen, the post office was located on State Route 335 between Graham Lane and Eckhart Road.  Its Postmasters were:

William S. Bennett - August 5, 1886

Daniel Pool - September 3, 1886

Discontinued October 24, 1887, mail sent to Scioto Post Office

Re-established June 18, 1888

William S. Bennett - June 18, 1888

William Brown - January 31, 1898

Discontinued February 26, 1898 - mail sent to Scioto Post Office
