In the name of the Benevolent Father of All:
I, Jesse Rice of Jeferson Township, Scioto County, Ohio, do make and publish this my last will and testament:

Item 1st: I give and bequeath to my wife, in lieu of her dower, the following property to wit: one cow now on the farm, one mare now on the farm, All money left, if any, resulting from sale of land to pay other heirs as hereinafter designated.

Item 2nd: I give, devise and bequeath my Son Charles W. Rice the Home Farm on which I now reside, situate in Jefferson and Madison Townships, Scioto County Ohio, with excepting what was deeded to Elizabeth Robinson, containing about (110 A) one hundred and ten acres in Jefferson Township, and fifty nine acres in Madison Township, making in all (169 A) one hundred and sixty nine acres giving him all to have and to hold absolutely and in fee simple. Also all farming utensils.

Item 3rd: I give to the heirs of Eliza Munn, deceased the sum of fifty dollars.

Item 4th: I give to the heirs of my daughter Sarah Ann Hichcock, the sum of fifty dollars.

Item 5th: I give to Rebecca Munn, wife of Jasper Munn, the sum of fifty dollars.

Item 6th: I give to Mary Ellen McKenzie the sum of one hundred dollars.

Item 7th: I give to the heirs of Clarissa Henson the sum of five dollars.

Item 8th: I desire that the amounts named and devised in items 3, 4,5,6 and 7 be made and paid from sale of my real estate not included in my will, and situate in Scioto Co., O., and I empower and request that my executor sell and apply the proceeds of the same to that effect, I giving him full power to make and convey title to the same said land being section ten Jefferson Township and section fifteen of Clay Township, Scioto. County, Ohio.

Item 9th: I do hereby nominate and appoint my son Charles W. Rice executor of this my last will and testament, hereby authorizing and empowering him to compromise, adjust, release and discharge, in such manner as he may deem proper, the debts and claims due me.
I desire that no appraisement and no sale of my personal property be made, and that the court of Probate direct the omission of the same in pursuance of the statute.

I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made.

In testimony hereof, I have hereupon set my hand and seal, this 10th day of September, in the year A. D. 1888.
