Harold W. Griffen Resigns as Coach

Harold W. Griffen, former University of Iowa football star, has resigned as coach of the Portsmouth Spartans National league professional football team and as secretary of the Portsmouth National League Football corpation. He had coached the team three years. The resignation followed controversies between the promoters and the coaching staff. Griffen gained all America distinction while playing center for Iowa.
