Portsmouth, O., Nov 6.---The Portsmouth Spartans went down in defeat in a night game played here last night before the powerful New York Giants' eleven by the count of 19 to 6. The game a sheduled National League contest, was played at night before a fairly large crowd. Benny Friedman, all-America backfield player from Michigan, was the mainstay of the New York Giants' offensive attack and all of the Gothan team's touchdowns were scored from passes thrown by this famous all-America player's hand. Friedman, known as one of the greatest forward passers in the country, was almost a one-man team himself against Glassgow and the Spartans.

The Portsmouth club's eleven scored when they recovered a fumble after a blocked New York Giant punt. The Spartans lost last Sunday at Green Bay, Wis., to the Green Bay Packers, champions of the national professional league, in 1920.
