MINNEAPOLIS. Oct. 13 (AP).- The Minneapolis Red Jackets handed the Portsmouth Spartans their first defeat in the national professional football league 13-0 here yesterday.

Pape dashed 46 yards for the first Minneapolis touchdown in the second quarter while Jesting went over for the other in the third session after leading the march of three quarters the length of the field.

The Spartans backfield of Glassgow, McLain, Lumpkin and Bennett, failed to gain consistently until late in the final quarter when the Jackets stopped their long march on the three-yard line as the game ended.
