Death Claims Dr. Rigrish, 68

Dr. George Andrew Rigrish, 68, of Fort Hill, died at 12:50 a.m. Monday in a Charleston hospital after a lingering illness. He underwent a major operation last Friday and had undergone a previous operation about two weeks ago. Dr. Rigrish, who maintained offices in the May building, was born in Scioto County, O., Nov. 16, 1872. He graduated from Ohio Medical School at Cincinnati and practiced medicine and surgery until 1920, when he came to Charleston from Defiance, O. and became a specialist in proctology. Dr. Rigrish was a Shriner Knights Templar and a member of the Lutheran church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. America Mansfield Rigrish; a daughter, Mrs. Roy L. Givens, and a granddaughter, Barbara Rigrish Givens of 5509 Kanawha avenue, S. E., and a brother, Wiley Rigrish of Sciotoville, O. The body was removed to the Simpson mortuary, where chapel services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Herman Mees Meyer, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, will officiate. The body will be shipped Tuesday night to Defiance, O., for final rites and burial to be held there Wednesday afternoon.
