A Wooden Factory Burned at Portsmouth

Portsmouth, Ohio, March 6

A fire broke out at the Salt Woolen Factory, on Chillicothe street, last night, in the picking room, located in the second story of the addition to the main buildings.

About one thousand pounds of cotton was burned which was scattered around the picker. The rafters of the roof were damaged, and several machines injured by water, and it can not be ascertained for several days how much of their most expensive and complicated machinery is damaged.
