Portsmouth, Sept. 3-- (INS)--Four small game refuges in Scioto-co outside the 9,000-acre Roosevelt game preserve are soon to be established. With the cooperation of farmers, County Game Protector Theron Matthews is arranging to lease three tracts in the Scioto river bottoms between Portsmouth and Clifford which will afford shelter and breeding for wild ducks, pheasants, quail, rabbits and other small game.

Another tract near the little Scioto river will become a haven for ring-necked pheasants, possums, raccoons and squirrels. James W. Stuber of the state conservation division has approved the sites.
