A former Marion resident, now a prisoner in Scioto County Jail at Portsmouth, has confessed he stole $1,400 from his brother and borrowed $300 from a "girlfriend" to marry another woman, Sheriff Burl Justice of Scioto County announced at Portsmouth today.

The Scioto County prisoner gave the name of Curtis Floyd Akers, 30, a native of Abington, Va. who said he formely lived in Marion at 462 Forest street and was at on time a resident of Kenton.

Marion police report he was arrested here in August of this year for stealing an auto tire and wheel and fined $50 and costs.

Ex-Convict
He is an ex-convict. He was parloed from Washington State penitentiary in May after serving and 18 months sentence. He was parloed to his brother, Malcolm Akers, a dairyman of Highland Bend, O. near Portsmouth. It was from him he is charged with stealing the $1,400, Sheriff Justice said.

He came here to Marion last summer after working on his brother's dairy farm at Highland Bend for only a few weeks after his parole from Washington State Prison.
